Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026 · Version 1.0
This policy explains what information the JOL mobile app ("JOL", "we", "us") collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By using JOL you agree to this policy.
What we collect
When you use JOL we collect: account details (email, display name, date of birth), the events you create or RSVP to, your approximate location (only with your permission, to surface nearby events), profile information you choose to add, and basic device and usage analytics so we can improve the app.
Why we collect it
To deliver core features — showing you events, matching you with buddies, processing RSVPs and messages; to keep the platform safe by detecting fraud, abuse and prohibited content; and to improve the product through aggregated, anonymised analytics.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the infrastructure providers that run JOL (such as Supabase for storage and Google Maps for mapping and geocoding), and with law enforcement where we are legally required to.
Your rights
You can edit your profile, control the visibility of events you host, hide your address on private events, block other users, and permanently delete your account at any time from the Settings screen. You may also request a copy of your data by contacting us.
Children
JOL is not directed at children under 13. We remove accounts found to belong to underage users. Certain events are flagged as adult-only and are restricted accordingly.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We follow industry best practices to protect your information, though no online service can be guaranteed 100% secure.
Changes
We may update this policy as JOL evolves. Material changes will be notified in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
