1. Who we are

JOL ("we", "us") is a social events-discovery platform operated from South Africa. By creating an account or using JOL you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please don't use the app.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use JOL. Certain events are flagged as adult-only and require you to confirm you are at least 18 years old.

3. Your account

Keep your login details secure and provide accurate information. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.

4. Your content

You own the content you post — events, photos, profile details and messages. By posting it you grant JOL a non-exclusive licence to host, display and distribute that content within the app for the purpose of operating the service. You confirm you have the right to post it and that all event information is accurate.

5. Acceptable use & prohibited content

Events or content that promote illegal activity, drug dealing, non-consensual or sexual content involving minors, hate speech, harassment, or that violate local laws are strictly prohibited. We reserve the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.

6. Community safety — report & block

JOL provides in-app tools to report events, content and users, and to block other users. We review reports and may remove content or suspend accounts. We may share information with law enforcement where required by law. JOL is a discovery platform, not an organiser — we do not vet or verify organisers, venues or attendees.

7. Organisers & events

If you host an event you are solely responsible for it — for the accuracy of the listing, for having the right to host it, for the safety of attendees, and for complying with all applicable laws, licences and venue rules.

8. Boosts & payments

Organisers may choose to pay to boost an event — promoting it higher in the feed and on the map. Boost prices are shown before you pay and are processed by our payment provider, Yoco. A boost is promotional placement only; it does not guarantee attendance, reach or any particular outcome. Except where the law requires otherwise, boost payments are non-refundable once the boost has started.

9. Tickets

Where an event links to tickets, those are sold by third-party ticketing platforms. JOL is not a party to those transactions and accepts no liability for tickets sold outside our platform.

10. Disclaimer

JOL is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not vet or verify event organisers, venues or attendees. You attend any event entirely at your own risk.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, JOL is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for anything that happens at an event, between users, or through a third-party ticketing or payment provider.

12. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified in-app. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
