Your whole scene, in one app

From a spontaneous house party to a sold-out festival — if it's happening near you, it's on JOL.

Everything you need to be found

List it, keep control of it, and land in front of people who are already looking for something to do.

Your venue, already on the map

You don't sign up to exist on JOL. You claim what's already there — and then it's yours to run.

Everything on one map

Every event near you as a pin, sized by how big the night is. Zoom out and they gather into groups — and a group of events still reads as events, with the count on it, never a grey blob.

ON NOW

See what's on right now

An event that has already started wears a ring and says ON NOW, in words. At 23:00 on a Saturday that is the only thing you actually want to see, so it's the loudest mark on the map.

Roll with your crew

Add your crew, see which events they're hitting, and message them in the app to make the plan. No screenshotting a poster into six group chats.

Tickets stay where they are

RSVP in one tap and see who's going. If the event sells tickets we send you straight to Quicket, Howler or whoever is selling them — JOL doesn't sell tickets and never takes a cut.

Up in under a minute

Poster, time, place, done. Set who can see it — public, private, or open house — and change it after it goes live. Free to list, and that is not an introductory price.

A poster, even if you haven't got one

No artwork? We draw one from your event's own name, date and place before it goes up, so your night never appears as a grey rectangle next to someone else's flyer.

Claim your name, get the tick

If we've already listed one of your events, your organiser page exists — with everything you've got coming and everything you've already done. Tap claim, show us it's yours, and it carries a verified tick from then on. Free, and it stays free.

On the map, not in a directory

Your event shows up for someone standing three streets away wondering what's on tonight — not for someone who already knew your name and went looking for it.

You're already on it

We seeded 12,041 South African venues from Overture, so your place is very likely on the map right now — findable, before you've done anything at all.

What's on at your place

Your venue has its own page — address, phone, directions, what is coming up and what has already been there. Every event listed at your address feeds it automatically, and you can claim it to own what people see.

Claim it and get verified

Nobody has to approve your venue to exist — it already does. What we check is that it's yours. Once we have, the page is yours to correct, and it carries the verified tick.

We come to you

We read the ticket sites and the public listings, and a human approves each event before it goes live. So your Friday can land on JOL without you lifting a finger — and you can ask us to pull anything down.

Built for the night out

A clean, fast app that gets you from “what's happening?” to “we're going” in seconds.

The JOL map: event pins coloured by how soon they start and grouped where they overlap, with live events ringed and labelled ON NOW.
A JOL event page: the countdown above the title, how many are going, how many saved it, how many of your crew are in, and an RSVP button.
The JOL Crew tab, showing which events your crew has RSVP'd to tonight.

Categories, one per event. A night is one thing, not a pile of tags — so the filters actually narrow something.

To list, to claim, to use. JOL doesn't sell tickets, so it never takes a cut of yours.

For organisers & venues

Put your event in front of people looking for one.

Whether you run a venue, a club night, or you're throwing a birthday — JOL gets your event discovered by people nearby who actually want to be there.

  • Free to list. Add your event in minutes and reach a local audience at no cost.
  • You stay in control. Set visibility, capacity, age limits and ticket links — your event, your rules.
  • Claim what's already yours. Venues and organisers exist on JOL unclaimed. Ask for yours, show us it's you, and it carries a verified tick.
  • Real reach. Show up on the map and feed for people searching for something to do tonight.

Claims are reviewed by a person, not a form — email hello@jolapp.com or leave your address below and we'll come to you.

Questions

The short answers.

When is JOL launching?

JOL is in beta and launching in South Africa first — the major metros to start with, and outwards from there.

Is it free?

Yes. Free to download, free to use, free to list your own events, and free to claim your venue. There is no paid tier waiting behind any of those.

Does JOL sell tickets?

No, and it isn't going to. When an event sells tickets we send you straight to whoever is actually selling them — Quicket, Howler, iTickets and the rest. We don't handle your card and we don't take a cut, which is also why we can afford to list everyone.

How do I list my event?

Create it in the app in under a minute — poster, time, place, and who can see it. If you run a venue or a recurring night, get in touch and we'll set you up properly.

My venue is already on JOL and I didn't put it there.

We seeded 12,041 South African venues from open map data (Overture Maps Foundation), so places exist on JOL unclaimed. That isn't a claim that you're a customer. Ask us and we'll hand you the page to run, correct what's wrong, or take it down.

What kind of events are on JOL?

Nightlife, festivals, live music, house parties, day parties, sundowners, bars and underground. One category per event, so filtering actually narrows something.

Which devices is it on?

JOL is built for iPhone and Android. Store links will appear here the moment it's live.
